About the event

An Evening of Shakespeare at Carrick Hill

Step inside historic Carrick Hill House on Saturday 23rd May for a one-night-only staged reading of Il Vento.

This intimate performance offers a first glimpse of an original ecological adaptation of Shakespeare's Tempest by Dr Alys Daroy, co-author of Shakespeare, Ecology, and Adaptation (Bloomsbury Arden Shakespeare, 2025). The work has been developed in partnership with the Conservatorio di Verona and internationally selected for performance at the World Shakespeare Congress in July 2026.

These staged extracts will be performed by an award-winning ensemble of Michaela Burger, Alys Daroy, Melanie Munt (Black Swan, State Theatre), and Paul Westbrook, the evening weaves together selected scenes and live music, followed by a conversation with the artists.

With seating strictly limited, this special Donors Circle event invites you into the creative process at a rare and pivotal moment. Tickets begin at $100, with proceeds supporting the artists’ journey to Verona. Ticket holders…
