Sydney’s Food Landscapes traces the transformation of Sydney’s metropolitan food systems from First Nations land management through colonisation, urban expansion and industrial agriculture. Bringing together Indigenous, colonial and diverse migrant histories, it examines how culture, power, planning and development have reshaped the city’s food-producing landscapes.

Richly illustrated with original mappings and archival material, the book considers what Sydney’s past reveals about the fragility of urban food futures in an era of climate and resource precarity.
